ABEKT 5.6 freely available to school libraries for 2017-2018 school year

The National documentation Centre (EKT), in its constant endeavour to support the Greek education system, will continue to freely provide ABEKT 5.6 (Library Automation and Data Management System) to school libraries supervised by the Ministry of education. The intention is to meet the needs of school libraries for the installation of Information and Communication Technology with the greatest number of applications as possible and services for a range of users.

This version of ABEKT incorporates functions for the integrated management of collections and library services, contributing greatly to the effective organisation and upgrading of school library services. Using the ABEKT system, school libraries are in a position to co-operate with the national library network and develop wider services to meet the needs of both students and educators.

Note that ABEKT 5.6 is now only available to school libraries. Other libraries will use EKT’s openABEKT service.
