SymbIASIS networking event for startups and hospitals

The purpose of the event is to facilitate networking between hospitals/clinics and selected startups participating in the project.

The National Documentation Centre (EKT), EIT Health Hub in Greece and coordinator of the SymbIASIS project, is organizing an online networking event titled "Startups Pitching to Hospitals" in collaboration with Archimedes - Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the CeHA Center for e-Health Applications, and JOIST Innovation Park, on Monday, November 11th 2024 (12:00-12:00 and/or 15:00-17:00).

The goal of the event is to foster introductions and networking between hospitals/clinics and select startups participating in the program.

The event is open to 38 startups continuing with SymbIASIS since 2023, and 27 startups joining the third program cycle in 2024. Representatives from 28 hospitals and clinics will also participate.

The 65 startups in total will have a unique opportunity to present their solutions to hospitals and clinics in the program.

Dr. Sofia Xesfiggi, SymbIASIS project manager and National Contact Point for Horizon Europe, will moderate the discussion.

About the SymbIASIS Program

The SymbIASIS project connects hospitals and startups with the goal of developing innovative products and services.

This pioneering project for Greece was launched in 2022 and is implemented by EIT Health, coordinated by EKT in partnership with Archimedes - Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the CeHA Center for e-Health Applications, and JOIST Innovation Park.

Initially, the project's first year aimed to open dialogue and build skills for both startups and healthcare unit representatives, enhancing their readiness for creating pilot projects, with four pre-pilot projects planned to start immediately. However, SymbIASIS has significantly exceeded its original objectives, establishing itself as the first health startup accelerator in Greece.

Today, SymbIASIS includes 28 hospitals and clinics and 65 of the most dynamic health startups from Greece and Cyprus.
